Audio and Video Comments Using E-comments Extension

You can add the extension, E-comments, to your Google Chrome Browser to have the capabilities to add video and voice comments in Google Docs and Google Slides.  There are also hundreds of canned comments that can be sorted by age level.  I personally like the ability to add audio and video comments.

The first thing that needs to happen is you need to go to the Google Chrome Store and install the extension, E-comments.

Once it is installed, pin the extension so you can see it while working in Googe Docs or Slides. You will do this at the top by finding the Extension icon, clicking on it, and clicking on the pushpin icon until it is blue.

You will need to go to Google Docs and Google Slides and toggle on access for E-comments to both websites.  Find the extension icon, click on it and then slide it to "on".

It will automatically display all the canned comments to the right.  Like the picture shows below.  You can select the "HIDE" button at the top so you don't have to see that.
As you are reading through the Google Doc or Slide, you can make comments by highlighting or double-clicking the area you want to add a comment.  Then select, "add comment".
If you have hidden the E-comments display bar, you will need to select "show".  You can click and add a canned comment or select the microphone to record a message, or select the video camera to record a video.  You will need to allow access to your camera and microphone if you record a video or voice message.

Once you have recorded it, you have different options.  You can add the comment to just that Doc or Slide, you can save it to E-comment Menu to use over and over, or you can delete and start over.
